Alison Lawton Gives Keynote Speech at AFP Vancouver AGM
The Vancouver Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) will hold its Annual General Meeting on February 27th, 2008 in the Century Plaza Hotel. Alison will be giving the keynote speech about “Social Innovation: Venture Philanthropy as a Collective Fusion of Business, Non-profit and Politics”.

Alison Lawton: Recipient of SFU Outstanding Alumni Award
Each year, Simon Fraser University (SFU) and the Alumni Association honour their most accomplished graduates with Outstanding Alumni Awards. Nominations are made by alumni, faculty, staff, students and SFU's many friends in the community. Since the awards were first introduced in 1983, they have become one of SFU's most celebrated traditions. We applaud all our winners for their remarkable achievements. This year’s awards will be presented on February 19, 2008 at a dinner event held at the Vancouver Four Seasons Hotel.

Unite Against AIDS Concert in support of UNICEF Canada
The inagural Unite Against AIDS Concert was held on November 28th, 2007 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. Performers included Avril Lavigne, Sarah McLachlan, John Mayer, Angelique Kidjo, Corneille, Marie-Mai, Nikki Yanofsky and was emceed by Ben Mulroney. The 2008 Unite Against AIDS Concert will take place in Toronto, Canada in mid-late November. [watch movie]

Leadership Board
The Women's Leadership Board is an international group of women with substantial experience in government, private enterprise, and the nonprofit sector. Members of the Board advise the Dean of the Kennedy School on policy issues in areas where they possess particular expertise and offer practical perspectives on the activities and plans of the Women and Public Policy Program and the Council of Women World Leaders.
