The Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society

Founded in 1982, the GVFBS has become one of the most important non-government funded food assistance providers in Canada.

Food Runners is the organization's prepared and perishable food recovery program. It receives quality food donated from hotels, restaurants, cafeterias and schools and delivers it to meal providing agencies. Each year, Food Runners saves 515,000 lbs. of food and creates 1.25 million meals for people in need.

Alison Lawton has been a key player in the success of the GVFBS. Her financial commitments helped the organization to build their corporate infrastructure and her business development efforts were instrumental in the revitalization and growth of the Food Runners program. Alison also financed and developed a fundraising video for the organization.
